It is simple flavorful chutney, which is made of peanuts. This is one of my favourite sidedish. It goes well with idly , dosa and medhu vadai. Store it in refrigerator in air tight container , it wil stay good upto 5 days. I made it little more spicy, you can adjust red chilli according to your taste buds.
Ingredients:
1 cup of Peanuts
1 no of Onion, sliced
4 to 5 no of Dried red chilli
2 no of Garlic
1 tsp of Tamarind
1 tbsp of Channa dal
Salt to taste
1 tbsp of oil
To temper
1 tbsp of oil
1 tsp of Mustard seeds
1 tsp of Urad dal
1/4 tsp of Asafoetida
Few curry leaves
Method:
1. Heat oil in pan over medium heat. Add red chilli, channa dal and peanuts. Saute for 3 minutes.
2. Add onion and garlic, cook and stir occasionally until onion become translucent. Remove it from flame and let it completely cool for sometime.
3. Now take them in blender, add tamarind and season with salt.
4. Blend and make it to fine paste. Transfer into bowl.
5. For tadka, heat oil in pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida and curry leaves. Leat it splutter and then pour it to the chutney.
6. Mix well and serve with hot idly or dosa.
