Pomfret Fish Fry

Ingredients

6 to 8 fish pieces
1 tsp turmeric powder for washing fish
Oil for shallow frying

For marination

1 tbsp chilli powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp fennel powder
4 large garlic bulb, crushed
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp salt

Method

Pomfret Fish Fry

Take fish pieces in a large bowl, add turmeric powder and mix well. Let it sit for 5 mins and then wash fish thoroughly with fresh running tap water.  Washing fishes with turmeric eliminates the odor of fish smell.
Pat dry the fish pieces with paper towel and set aside.

Add all the ingredients mention under marination column in a bowl or deep dish. Add some water and mix all together. The paste consistency should be thick. So please keep an eye on it while adding water.

Apply masala on all sides of fish pieces and marinade for half an hour in refrigerator.

Heat pan/tawa on medium heat. Add oil on it for shallow frying.

Place 3 to 4 pieces of fish on the heated oil and fry it for sometime. Turn them to other side and fry again. Fry until it cooked well.

Drain the excess oil in paper towel.

Serve hot with lemon wedges, sliced onions. Enjoy!!
